David Fedler joins Soldiers to Summits Advisory Team

Denver, Colorado (February 7, 2012 ): Summit of Everest Group, LLC is pleased to announce that David Fedler has joined the Advisory Team for Soldiers to Summits.  Soldiers to Summits enables veterans to overcome barriers and reclaim their lives.  The pillars of this mission are transformational adventures, a No Barriers mindset, and full engagement on behalf of all participants, guides, and veteran mentors.

Currently, Soldiers to Summits is  accepting applications for participants in the next S2S program, Cotopaxi 2012. This is an incredible opportunity for those who have served our country and now face daunting challenges. There will be scheduled training sessions in Colorado during the summer and fall, with a culminating ascent of Mt Cotopaxi in Ecuador, in December.  S2S is looking for any injured, active or retired, service men or women, any service, any disability. Climbing experience is not required or expected, you just need a willingness to grow, a big heart, and a base level of physical fitness.

World class mountaineering guides, veterans from the first expedition to Nepal in 2010, and an experienced Advisory Team including Erik Weihenmayer are working together to develop the curriculum for the Cotopaxi adventure.  The goal is to use mountaineering as the learning tool for setting ambitious goals, building world-class teams, innovating through obstacles, and stepping up to lead and serve others. For the S2S program, the mountains serve as the metaphor and training ground for helping to restructure how to deal with a certain past and uncertain future, while integrating with the existing rehab process.
