One of the exciting aspects of our motorsports programs is the opportunity that it provides to our drivers to learn and develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives. It’s more than driving really fast. It’s developing an ability to understand difficult concepts and apply them in real life situations. For example, the application of scientific and mathematical principles that allow you to go faster. It’s about developing the ability to communicate and share your story with others that generates opportunities. Through our partnership with Denver based Unser Racing, we have been able to accelerate these lessons and watch our team grow in amazing ways.
Recently, at the Superkarts USA Rocky Mountain Pro Kart Challenge at The Track at Centennial in Centennial, Colorado a crew from HDNet Studios came out to interview our team – the Unser Racing Performance Division. The goal was to highlight “real kids showing off what they do best”. The resulting short program below will air on HDNet and HDNet Movies between their daily “kidScene” movies.
What you will see in the video below is a group of kids, including our own Max and Everest Fedler talking about what they do and how they do it. This is a team of kids that compete wheel to wheel on the track at speeds approaching 60mph and then hop out of their karts and are all close friends. They have amazing families that support and sacrifice for them. And they have an amazing community including great people like Greg Welch and Unser Racing that work with them as great role models.
